Research Interests
- Medieval Literatures and Cultures:
- Sexuality, gender and transgression, particularly in Middle English and related literatures
- Particular interests in Middle English romance, both Old and Middle English religious texts, and Chaucerian narratives
- European medieval literatures, especially Arthuriana and romance narratives
- Translation and adaptation in medieval literary culture
- Theory and methodologies:
- Gender and queer theory
- History of sexuality and obscenity
- History of emotions, particularly as pertains to friendship
- Translation and adaptation theories, medieval and modern
- Adaptation, transformative works theories, and medievalisms
Particular teaching experience:
- Old and Middle English language & reading skills
- Medieval literature taught through genre and comparative studies
- Cross-period first year teaching, with emphasis on research and analysis skills
- Experience teaching interdisciplinary units and teaching cross-disciplinary historical skills to English majors
- Academic writing for non-native speakers
- Managing e-learning platforms
